My classroom research adventure

 


Research has always been a mystery to me.I was not interested as such in it till I met Dr Eric Ekembe and his teacher research crew.At first, I admired from a distance,still not particularly thrilled..Then I attended a conference the CAMELTA research group organized in the month of May.I was very impressed by the work teachers some younger than me did in the field of teacher research.Then I realised ,it was not as mystical as it sounded.We all do teacher research directly or indirectly In our classrooms sometimes, without knowing.I decided to get better involved in TR by giving it a try.I am currently following a teacher research training with the CAMELTA research group and will love to share my step-by-step evolution with you.I promise to jot down all the steps so you can travel in the research world with me.Ready?

Like I confessed in the previous blog,Unfortunately, teaching listening has always been a mystery to me.I hardly ever go beyond reading a listening comprehension text and the whole exercise is very boring because the learners constantly complain of not understanding the words and most of the time the whole text.My research shall focus on which method to use in order for learners to gain more interest in listening activities.Thus the research question; Which strategies can I use to motivate learners during a listening comprehension activity?
